Toronto born opera director, Joshua Major, has been head of opera at the University of Michigan for the past 18 years. He is also the Artistic Director of the Pine Mountain Music Festival, where he has been for the past 7 years, producing over 300 concerts of opera, symphony and chamber music. He continues to be associated with the International Vocal Arts Institute, where since 1993 he has directed and taught in Tel Aviv and Montreal. He continues to have an active freelance career throughout the United States.
